Vivah Muhurat 2028: All 77 Auspicious Hindu Wedding Dates, With Timings Calculated for India

There are 77 shubh days for marriage in 2028, spread across nine months. Three months carry none at all.

You can find that number on several websites. What you will not find elsewhere is the version below, because every muhurat window on this page is calculated for India.

That distinction is not cosmetic. Muhurat windows open and close against local sunrise, so the same auspicious configuration produces a different clock time in every city. The gap between Delhi and Jaipur runs to several minutes on every sunrise-linked boundary. On 15 January 2028, a Delhi calendar opens the window at 7:14 AM. In Jaipur it opens at 7:17 AM. On 14 April the Delhi window closes at 5:55 AM; in Jaipur it closes at 6:03 AM.

Three minutes rarely decides anything. But several of the 2028 windows are startlingly short — one runs for eighteen minutes, another for twelve — and at that scale the city you calculate for stops being a technicality.

Below is the full year, month by month, followed by the parts that matter operationally: which dates fall on weekends, which windows are too short for a large wedding, and where the back-to-back pairs sit.

How to read this calendar

Source and location. All dates and timings are calculated from Drik Panchang (Vedic Astrology). If your wedding is elsewhere, the dates hold but the exact minutes will shift slightly.

Overnight windows. Where a second date appears in the timing column, the window closes on that later date. A muhurat shown as 7:41 PM to 7:00 AM (Dec 2) runs overnight from the evening of the first date into the following morning. These are common and entirely valid — North Indian ceremonies frequently use them — but they need explicit confirmation from your venue.

Your panditji is the final authority. This calendar reflects standard Panchang calculation. Your panditji additionally matches the birth charts of both bride and groom, applies your regional tradition and family custom, and may remove dates from this list. Use this page to shortlist and to understand the shape of the year. Confirm the final date with him before printing anything.

2028 vivah muhurat at a glance

Month Shubh days Weekend dates Main restriction
January 8 3 Solar month, Jan 1–14
February 14 6 None
March 6 3 Solar month from Mar 14
April 8 4 Solar month, Apr 1–13
May 13 6 Shukra Tara Asta from May 25
June 8 2 Shukra Tara Asta to Jun 9; Chaturmas from Jul 1
July 0 Chaturmas and solar month
August 0 Solar month, entire month
September 0 Solar month, then Guru Tara Asta
October 2 0 Guru Tara Asta and Chaturmas to Oct 27
November 11 6 None
December 7 4 Solar month from Dec 15

Total: 77 shubh days.

The line that shapes everything is the July to September block. From the last window on 29 June, the next auspicious date is 30 October — a gap of four months. Both edges of that gap carry extraordinary booking pressure.

January 2028 wedding dates — 8 shubh days

Date Day Muhurat Nakshatra Tithi
January 15 Saturday 07:17 AM to 11:25 AM Magha Chaturthi
January 16 Sunday 09:14 AM to 10:48 PM Uttara Phalguni Panchami, Shashthi
January 17 Monday 02:17 AM to 06:18 AM (Jan 18) Hasta Saptami
January 18 Tuesday 05:42 AM to 07:17 AM (Jan 19) Swati Ashtami
January 19 Wednesday 07:17 AM to 03:24 PM Swati Ashtami, Navami
January 21 Friday 12:54 PM to 07:16 AM (Jan 22) Anuradha Ekadashi
January 22 Saturday 07:16 AM to 07:34 AM Jyeshtha, Anuradha Ekadashi
January 31 Monday 07:14 AM to 07:13 AM (Feb 1) Uttara Bhadrapada Panchami

Planning note. January 15 to 22 is a dense eight-day cluster and the strongest window of the first quarter. January 16 is the standout: a Sunday with a window running from 9:14 AM to 10:48 PM, over thirteen hours. For a large wedding with an extended baraat and a full ceremony sequence, that is as much operational room as any date in the year offers.

Read January 22 carefully. The window is eighteen minutes long. It is a valid muhurat and suits a small ceremony where the core rites are brief, but it cannot absorb a delayed baraat, and at a palace property with guests spread across a large site, it will not work.

January is also peak season across Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur, and nights fall into single digits. Outdoor evening functions need heating planned and budgeted from the start. For a January 2028 date, venue contracts should be signed by early 2027.

February 2028 wedding dates — 14 shubh days

Date Day Muhurat Nakshatra Tithi
February 1 Tuesday 07:13 AM to 03:24 AM (Feb 2) Revati Panchami, Shashthi
February 5 Saturday 12:54 PM to 07:10 AM (Feb 6) Rohini Dashami
February 6 Sunday 07:10 AM to 01:20 PM Rohini Dashami, Ekadashi
February 10 Thursday 06:17 AM to 07:07 AM (Feb 11) Magha Pratipada
February 11 Friday 07:07 AM to 02:48 PM Magha Pratipada
February 12 Saturday 07:08 PM to 11:18 PM Uttara Phalguni Tritiya
February 13 Sunday 09:39 AM to 02:46 AM (Feb 14) Uttara Phalguni, Hasta Chaturthi
February 15 Tuesday 08:50 PM to 02:38 AM (Feb 16) Swati Shashthi
February 17 Thursday 12:32 PM to 05:18 PM Anuradha Ashtami
February 20 Sunday 04:25 PM to 05:13 PM Purva Ashadha, Mula Ekadashi
February 22 Tuesday 05:49 PM to 10:50 PM Uttara Ashadha Trayodashi
February 27 Sunday 11:01 AM to 06:52 AM (Feb 28) Uttara Bhadrapada Dwitiya, Tritiya
February 28 Monday 06:52 AM to 06:52 AM (Feb 29) Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati Tritiya, Chaturthi
February 29 Tuesday 06:52 AM to 09:23 AM Revati Chaturthi

Planning note. February is the richest month of 2028 and carries the single best pair in the calendar. The window opening at 12:54 PM on Saturday 5 February runs unbroken to 1:20 PM on Sunday 6 February — a continuous stretch of over twenty-four hours, on Rohini nakshatra, across a full weekend. Rohini is among the most favoured nakshatras for marriage. A two-day wedding placed here has both the sangeet and the pheras inside muhurat, with guests travelling on a weekend. Nothing else in 2028 combines all four advantages.

February 27 to 29 gives a second, longer run: three consecutive dates with near-continuous muhurat, ending on the leap day. Well suited to a three-function wedding.

February 20 needs flagging. The window is forty-eight minutes. That is workable for an intimate ceremony and nothing larger.

February weather across Rajasthan is the best of the year — dry, mild by day, cool at night without January's severity. Expect the strongest competition of the calendar for the February 5–6 weekend specifically.

March 2028 wedding dates — 6 shubh days

Date Day Muhurat Nakshatra Tithi
March 4 Saturday 07:54 PM to 06:47 AM (Mar 5) Mrigashira Ashtami, Navami
March 5 Sunday 06:47 AM to 08:00 PM Mrigashira Navami
March 9 Thursday 05:38 PM to 06:41 AM (Mar 10) Magha Chaturdashi
March 10 Friday 06:41 AM to 09:28 AM Magha Chaturdashi
March 12 Sunday 12:11 PM to 01:01 AM (Mar 13) Hasta Dwitiya, Tritiya
March 13 Monday 10:54 PM to 06:37 AM (Mar 14) Swati Chaturthi

Planning note. All six dates fall in the first fortnight; a prohibited solar month closes the rest of March. March 4 to 5 is a weekend pair with continuous muhurat from Saturday evening through Sunday evening — the best structure available this month.

Rajasthan is still comfortable in early March, with afternoons in the low-to-mid twenties. The heat builds noticeably from mid-month, which is precisely when the dates run out. March is a good month to marry in Rajasthan and a short one.

April 2028 wedding dates — 8 shubh days

Date Day Muhurat Nakshatra Tithi
April 14 Friday 05:13 AM to 06:03 AM (Apr 15) Mula Shashthi
April 15 Saturday 06:03 AM to 07:41 AM Mula Shashthi
April 16 Sunday 09:38 AM to 06:01 AM (Apr 17) Uttara Ashadha Ashtami
April 17 Monday 06:01 AM to 12:13 PM Uttara Ashadha Ashtami, Navami
April 21 Friday 12:08 AM to 05:56 AM (Apr 22) Uttara Bhadrapada Trayodashi
April 22 Saturday 05:56 AM to 10:06 AM Uttara Bhadrapada Trayodashi
April 27 Thursday 07:33 AM to 05:51 AM (Apr 28) Rohini Tritiya, Chaturthi
April 29 Saturday 05:50 AM to 07:46 AM Mrigashira Panchami

Planning note. April's windows skew early. Several open before dawn or shortly after, which sounds inconvenient and is in fact well matched to the season. By late April, Jaipur is hot by mid-morning and Jaisalmer considerably hotter. A ceremony that completes by 8 AM is far kinder to guests in heavy wedding clothing than one at noon.

April 27 on Rohini nakshatra is the strongest single date, with a window running from morning through to dawn the next day — long enough to accommodate almost any ceremony structure.

If you are considering a desert property in April, plan every outdoor function for early morning or after sunset, and take the shade and cooling arrangements seriously rather than treating them as a detail.

May 2028 wedding dates — 13 shubh days

Date Day Muhurat Nakshatra Tithi
May 3 Wednesday 10:00 AM to 02:49 AM (May 4) Magha Navami, Dashami
May 5 Friday 11:32 AM to 05:45 AM (May 6) Uttara Phalguni, Hasta Dwadashi
May 6 Saturday 05:45 AM to 07:07 AM Hasta Dwadashi
May 7 Sunday 07:17 PM to 12:37 AM (May 8) Swati Chaturdashi
May 9 Tuesday 04:31 PM to 07:04 PM Anuradha Pratipada
May 11 Thursday 10:06 PM to 05:41 AM (May 12) Mula Chaturthi
May 12 Friday 05:41 AM to 04:41 PM Mula Chaturthi
May 13 Saturday 06:11 PM to 05:40 AM (May 14) Uttara Ashadha Panchami, Shashthi
May 14 Sunday 05:40 AM to 08:21 PM Uttara Ashadha Shashthi
May 19 Friday 06:15 PM to 05:37 AM (May 20) Uttara Bhadrapada Ekadashi
May 20 Saturday 05:37 AM to 05:36 AM (May 21) Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati Ekadashi, Dwadashi
May 21 Sunday 05:36 AM to 05:48 AM Revati Dwadashi
May 24 Wednesday 01:23 AM to 05:35 AM (May 25) Rohini Pratipada

Planning note. May carries thirteen dates, all before the 25th, when Shukra Tara Asta begins and closes the month. May 13 to 14 gives the longest unbroken window of the entire year: continuous from 6:11 PM on Saturday through 8:21 PM on Sunday, a stretch of over twenty-six hours across a weekend.

May 21 is the shortest window in 2028 at twelve minutes. It is a genuine muhurat and it is not a destination wedding date.

Rajasthan in May is severe. If your family is set on a May date, this is the month to consider a hill property or to keep every function indoors and after dark. The palace lawns that photograph so well in November are punishing in May.

June 2028 wedding dates — 8 shubh days

Date Day Muhurat Nakshatra Tithi
June 10 Saturday 12:31 PM to 04:47 AM (Jun 11) Uttara Ashadha Chaturthi
June 15 Thursday 03:58 PM to 05:33 AM (Jun 16) Uttara Bhadrapada Ashtami, Navami
June 16 Friday 05:33 AM to 05:33 AM (Jun 17) Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati Navami, Dashami
June 17 Saturday 05:33 AM to 01:48 PM Revati Dashami
June 20 Tuesday 11:35 PM to 01:16 AM (Jun 21) Rohini Trayodashi
June 27 Tuesday 05:49 AM to 02:05 PM Magha Panchami, Shashthi
June 28 Wednesday 11:39 PM to 05:36 AM (Jun 29) Uttara Phalguni Saptami
June 29 Thursday 05:36 AM to 06:45 AM, and 05:39 PM to 08:48 PM Uttara Phalguni; Hasta Saptami; Ashtami

Planning note. June 29 is the only date in 2028 with two separate muhurat windows on one day — a short one at dawn and a longer one in the evening. Families needing two ceremonies on a single date, which some combined regional traditions require, will not find this flexibility anywhere else in the calendar.

June 15 to 17 gives a continuous three-day run, useful for a full multi-function wedding.

June 29 is also the last auspicious date before the four-month gap. The next one is 30 October.

Pre-monsoon weather brings real risk to outdoor functions in June. Whatever the venue, negotiate weather contingency and rescheduling terms into the contract before signing, not after the forecast turns.

Why July, August and September 2028 have no wedding dates

Three restrictions overlap across these months, which is why the block is unbroken.

Chaturmas begins 1 July and suspends auspicious ceremonies through the monsoon. Observance varies by region and family custom — some South Indian traditions apply it differently from North Indian practice — so this is worth raising with your panditji rather than assuming.

A prohibited solar month runs from mid-July through mid-October, covering the whole of August and most of September.

Guru Tara Asta, Jupiter's combustion, begins 17 September and continues to 12 October, followed by Shishutva Brihaspati to 15 October. Because Jupiter governs marital stability in Hindu astrology, marriages are avoided throughout.

Chaturmas then continues to 27 October. The first date to clear every restriction is 30 October.

October 2028 wedding dates — 2 shubh days

Date Day Muhurat Nakshatra Tithi
October 30 Monday 03:09 PM to 06:36 AM (Oct 31) Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati Trayodashi
October 31 Tuesday 06:36 AM to 03:48 PM Revati Trayodashi, Chaturdashi

Planning note. These two dates will be the most contested in the second half of 2028. They are the first available after four blank months, they carry continuous muhurat across both days, and the weather is excellent. Every family in India whose panditji points to the reopening of the season will be looking at exactly these two dates.

One thing tempers the pressure slightly: they fall on a Monday and Tuesday. Families with guests travelling long distances may find the mid-week timing awkward, which pushes some towards November. If your guest list is largely local or your family can absorb a mid-week wedding, these dates are more reachable than their reputation suggests.

If you want 30 or 31 October, have the venue conversation underway well before your panditji confirms. By the time the date is settled, the shortlist is often already gone.

November 2028 wedding dates — 11 shubh days

Date Day Muhurat Nakshatra Tithi
November 4 Saturday 12:35 PM to 03:53 PM Rohini Dwitiya
November 5 Sunday 05:32 PM to 06:40 AM (Nov 6) Mrigashira Chaturthi
November 6 Monday 06:40 AM to 02:36 PM Mrigashira Chaturthi
November 10 Friday 07:21 PM to 06:44 AM (Nov 11) Magha Navami
November 11 Saturday 06:44 AM to 12:19 PM Magha Navami
November 13 Monday 06:08 PM to 06:10 AM (Nov 14) Hasta Dwadashi, Trayodashi
November 18 Saturday 03:00 AM to 06:50 AM (Nov 19) Mula Tritiya
November 19 Sunday 06:50 AM to 08:25 PM Mula Tritiya, Chaturthi
November 21 Tuesday 06:28 PM to 10:36 PM Uttara Ashadha Shashthi
November 26 Sunday 09:07 PM to 06:56 AM (Nov 27) Uttara Bhadrapada Dashami, Ekadashi
November 27 Monday 06:56 AM to 01:10 PM Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati Ekadashi

Planning note. November is the strongest month of 2028 for a Rajasthan wedding, combining eleven dates with the best weather of the year and six of those dates falling on a weekend.

November 10 to 11 deserves particular attention. The window opens Friday evening and closes at 12:19 PM on Saturday. A Saturday muhurat concluding before noon means the pheras complete in the cool of the morning and the entire afternoon and evening stay free for the reception — while guests travel on a weekend. At a palace property where outdoor setup needs early access, this sequence works cleanly for the venue as well as the family.

November 4 to 6 is the first substantial cluster after the long gap and will draw the heaviest demand in the month. November 18 to 19 and 26 to 27 both give weekend pairs with continuous windows.

November 4 runs three hours and eighteen minutes. Comfortable for a mid-sized wedding, tight for a very large one with an extended baraat.

December 2028 wedding dates — 7 shubh days

Date Day Muhurat Nakshatra Tithi
December 1 Friday 07:41 PM to 07:00 AM (Dec 2) Rohini Purnima
December 2 Saturday 07:00 AM to 07:00 AM (Dec 3) Rohini, Mrigashira Pratipada
December 3 Sunday 07:00 AM to 08:53 PM Mrigashira Dwitiya
December 9 Saturday 04:39 PM to 07:05 AM (Dec 10) Uttara Phalguni Ashtami, Navami
December 10 Sunday 07:05 AM to 07:06 AM (Dec 11) Uttara Phalguni, Hasta Navami, Dashami
December 12 Tuesday 11:54 AM to 05:24 PM Swati Ekadashi, Dwadashi
December 14 Thursday 08:52 AM to 10:49 AM Anuradha Trayodashi

Planning note. All seven dates fall before 15 December, when a prohibited solar month closes the year.

December 1 to 3 is the most complete run in the month: three consecutive days with continuous muhurat, beginning on Purnima with Rohini nakshatra and covering a full weekend. Sangeet on Friday evening, mehendi and haldi on Saturday, pheras on Sunday morning — every function inside muhurat. For a three-day wedding this is the cleanest structure available in the second half of 2028.

December 14 gives just under two hours, and it is the last date of the year. Manageable for a smaller ceremony, difficult for a large one.

Rajasthan in December is cold after dark — single digits overnight in Jaipur, colder in the desert. Heating for outdoor evening functions is not optional, and the lawns feel very different at 10 PM than they do in the afternoon photographs.

The short windows: dates that need a smaller wedding

No other 2028 calendar publishes this, and it is the first thing we check when a family sends us a date.

A large destination wedding with a full baraat, formal welcome and extended phera sequence needs roughly four to five hours inside the window. An intimate ceremony can complete in two. These 2028 dates fall below that comfortably:

  • May 21 — 12 minutes
  • January 22 — 18 minutes
  • February 20 — 48 minutes
  • May 6 — 1 hour 22 minutes
  • April 15 — 1 hour 38 minutes
  • April 29 — 1 hour 56 minutes
  • December 14 — 1 hour 57 minutes
  • February 29 — 2 hours 31 minutes
  • May 9 — 2 hours 33 minutes
  • March 10 — 2 hours 47 minutes

None of these is a bad date. Each is a valid muhurat and several carry excellent nakshatras. They simply demand a ceremony built to fit, and a family that knows this at the shortlisting stage plans a much calmer wedding than one that discovers it a fortnight out.

The weekend dates

For destination weddings, where most guests travel, a Saturday or Sunday muhurat materially improves attendance. Thirty-four of the 77 dates fall on a weekend:

  • January: 15, 16, 22
  • February: 5, 6, 12, 13, 20, 27
  • March: 4, 5, 12
  • April: 15, 16, 22, 29
  • May: 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21
  • June: 10, 17
  • October: none
  • November: 4, 5, 11, 18, 19, 26
  • December: 2, 3, 9, 10

Weekend dates in the peak months carry the sharpest competition of the year. If your muhurat also works mid-week, ask your panditji directly — a Tuesday date at a property you love is often a better wedding than a Saturday at your fourth choice.

Matching your muhurat to a Rajasthan venue

Tell the venue your window at booking, not later. Ceremony timing drives staffing, kitchen scheduling, sound permissions and setup access. A property that knows at contract stage will plan around it. One that learns a month out will improvise.

Overnight windows need written confirmation. Many 2028 muhurats run past midnight into dawn. These suit North Indian traditions well, but a property with outdoor grounds, occupied guest rooms and local sound restrictions may not be able to host pheras concluding at 5 AM. Assuming otherwise is the most common planning failure we see.

Early-closing windows are a gift. A muhurat ending before noon leaves the whole afternoon and evening free for the reception, and lets outdoor setup happen at first light. November 11 and February 6 both work this way.

Back-to-back pairs are the efficient dates. February 5–6, February 27–29, May 13–14, May 19–21, June 15–17, October 30–31, November 26–27 and December 1–3 all give continuous or near-continuous windows across consecutive days, letting multiple functions sit inside muhurat. These book first.

Booking timeline for a 2028 wedding

  • 18 to 24 months out. Shortlist likely windows from this calendar and shortlist properties. Nothing is committed; you are removing surprises.
  • 14 to 18 months out. Confirm dates with your panditji, then check availability across the shortlist within days. Place provisional holds where you can.
  • 12 months out. Sign the contract with the muhurat window written into it. Release the room block, especially for family travelling from abroad.
  • 6 to 9 months out. Lock decor, photography and entertainment. On peak dates these disappear at roughly venue speed.
  • 3 months out. Menus, rooming lists, transfers, run sheet.

The pattern we see every season: families who treat the Panchang as a planning tool get their first choice of venue. Families who wait for confirmation before making a single enquiry get their third. The muhurat date is rarely what separates them.

Frequently asked questions

How many shubh vivah muhurat days are there in 2028?
77, across nine months: January 8, February 14, March 6, April 8, May 13, June 8, October 2, November 11 and December 7. July, August and September have none.

Which month is best for a wedding in 2028?
February has the most dates at 14 and includes the strongest pair of the year on 5 and 6 February. For a Rajasthan destination wedding specifically, November is the better target: eleven dates, six of them on weekends, and the best weather of the year across Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur simultaneously.

Why are there no wedding dates in July, August and September 2028?
Chaturmas begins 1 July, a prohibited solar month runs from mid-July through mid-October, and Guru Tara Asta covers 17 September to 12 October. Together they eliminate all three months. The first available date afterwards is 30 October.

Why do these timings differ from other 2028 muhurat calendars?
Because muhurat windows are calculated against local sunrise, and this calendar uses Jaipur. Most published calendars use Delhi without stating so. The dates match; the minutes do not.

Can my panditji reject a date on this page?
Yes. This reflects standard Panchang calculation. Your panditji also matches both birth charts and applies your family tradition, which can remove dates. His guidance is final.

Which 2028 dates suit a large destination wedding best?
Those with long windows on weekends: 5 and 6 February, 13 and 14 May, 10 and 11 November, and 1 to 3 December. Each gives several hours or a continuous multi-day run, with guests able to travel on a weekend.

Check your 2028 dates against real venue availability

Once your panditji has confirmed a date, the question becomes what is actually open on it. Our team brings 50+ years of combined luxury hospitality experience and long-standing hotel relationships across Rajasthan, Goa and Abu Dhabi, and we can check your shortlisted dates against live availability at palace and resort properties rather than leaving you to enquire one hotel at a time.

Send us your dates and an approximate guest count. We will tell you what is open, what is close, and where the realistic alternatives are if your first choice has gone.
