Maharana Pratap Airport sits east of the city, and most of the large resorts are to the north and west, so transfer times vary a lot. Taj Lalit Bagh at Nahar Mangra is about 15 minutes from the airport. The lakeside hotels on Fateh Sagar are in the city itself. The Ananta is roughly 25 minutes from the city centre and Mementos about 20 km out on the Eklingji side, while Taj Aravali is closer to an hour from the airport. Build these times into arrival days and into any evening function held away from the hotel.
Check rooms as well as lawns. Several Udaipur resorts can seat far more people at a reception than they can sleep, so a large wedding often pairs the main venue with a second hotel nearby.
October to March is the main season, with December to February the busiest months. Start 10 to 12 months ahead for those dates. October, just after the monsoon, is when the lakes are fullest and the hills greenest, and it books early too.
