Why Couples Choose Pushkar for Their Destination Wedding
Two reasons, usually. The first is the setting — hillside resorts with open lawns, the Aravallis behind them, and a scale that keeps a wedding personal. The second is proximity: around two and a half to three hours from Jaipur airport, which makes it far easier for guests than Jaisalmer or Ranthambore.
The third reason, for families who care about it, is the town itself. Blessings at the Brahma temple and the evening aarti at Pushkar Lake add a dimension to the wedding journey that a resort alone cannot.
What Pushkar does better than most destinations:
- Resorts sized for 100 to 300 guests, where a full buyout is genuinely affordable
- Real spiritual significance rather than heritage styling
- Easy road access from Jaipur, so guests can combine both cities
- Open hillside lawns with genuine quiet — no city noise, no neighbouring events
Worth knowing before you commit: Pushkar town itself follows pure-vegetarian and alcohol-free traditions. The resorts on the outskirts operate differently, but the distinction matters and we will explain exactly where your chosen venue sits.

Best Time for a Destination Wedding in Pushkar
Peak Season — October to March
- October — Green from monsoon, pleasant, and the run-up to fair season. Books early.
- November — The Pushkar Camel Fair falls in this window and transforms the town. Spectacular for guests, and the busiest and most expensive period of the year. Book 12 months ahead or plan around it deliberately.
- December and January — Cool days, cold hillside evenings near 8°C. Excellent for daytime functions with heating at night.
- February — Arguably the best month here: comfortable throughout, without fair-season pressure.
- March — Good to mid-month, then warming.
Shoulder Season
April and September suit smaller weddings with better rates and availability. May to August brings heat and monsoon, moving functions indoors.
