The resort sits in the Aravali range on the Kodiyat side of the city, and its biggest strength for a wedding is space: three large lawns, a ballroom and 181 rooms, suites and tents on one estate. The resort is spread across about 30 acres and is built in levels down the hillside, so most rooms and lawns look out over green slopes. It is roughly 50 minutes by road from Maharana Pratap Airport. On site there are five places to eat and drink, including Tiri for all-day dining, Javitri for Indian thalis and the Odeypore Lounge Bar, along with a J Wellness Circle spa with nine treatment rooms.
For wedding guests, the resort feels like a self-contained retreat. There is an outdoor pool and a kids' pool, squash and badminton courts, an indoor golf simulator and even a small 34-seat cinema. That matters on a three-day wedding, because guests have plenty to do between functions without leaving the property.

The resort's 181 keys include hill-view and garden-view rooms, suites and tents, with interconnecting rooms available on request, which is useful for families travelling together. In practice, a Taj Aravali wedding of up to around 300 guests can usually stay entirely on site, which keeps transport simple and the atmosphere close-knit.
When planning the room block, we suggest reserving suites for the couple and immediate family first, placing elders in rooms close to the lawns, and keeping the tents for younger guests who enjoy the setting.
October to March is the main wedding season in Udaipur, with pleasant days and cool evenings that suit the open lawns. December to February is the busiest window, so book early for those months. Hindu wedding dates also pause during Kharmas, roughly mid-December to mid-January, which pushes demand onto the weeks either side.
April to June is hot, and events work best after sunset. The monsoon, from July to September, turns the Aravali hills green and can be beautiful, but lawn functions need a confirmed indoor backup.
Using a different lawn each day means décor teams can set up ahead of time, and guests see a fresh setting for every function.
Taj Aravali's location outside the city is both its appeal and something to plan around. Guests get quiet, open views and cooler hill air, and the wedding feels private. On the other hand, a trip into Udaipur's old city and lakes takes some time, so if guests want to sightsee, schedule it as a planned outing rather than an assumption.
