A two- to three-day destination wedding in Rajasthan typically starts at around ₹1–2 crore for an intimate heritage celebration and rises to ₹7 crore or more for an ultra-luxury palace wedding. Where your wedding falls depends mainly on four things: the number of guests you host, the hotel you choose, how many nights and functions you plan, and your dates.
The figures below are indicative planning estimates based on our recent work with hotels across Rajasthan, not fixed market prices. Hotel rates change by season and date, and actual budgets can fall outside these ranges.
| Wedding style | Indicative budget | Approx. in US$ | Typical guests | Typical setting | Rooms covered |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intimate heritage wedding | ₹1 – 2 crore | US$106K – 212K | 75 – 150 | Boutique heritage hotel or a wing of a palace hotel | Room block for most guests, 2 nights |
| Mid-range destination wedding | ₹2 – 4 crore | US$212K – 423K | 150 – 250 | Five-star resort or heritage hotel | Room block for outstation guests, 2–3 nights |
| Premium luxury wedding | ₹4 – 7 crore | US$423K – 741K | 250 – 400 | Luxury palace or five-star luxury hotel, most of the property | Large room block, 3 nights |
| Ultra-luxury palace wedding | ₹7 crore + | US$741K + | 300 + | Iconic palace, often a full-property buyout | Whole property, 3 nights or more |
US$ figures use an approximate rate of ₹94.5 to US$1 (October 2026) and are rounded.

The same wedding can cost noticeably more in one city than another, mainly because of hotel inventory, the type of venue and how far guests must travel.
| City | Venue options | Hotel accommodation | Accessibility | Wedding style | Relative budget pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jaipur | Widest range — palaces, heritage hotels, five-star resorts | Largest choice of rooms at every level | Best connected; about 1 hour by air from Delhi | Grand celebrations, large guest lists | Moderate — the most options at every budget |
| Udaipur | Iconic lake palaces and lakeside resorts | Limited luxury rooms; fills early | Domestic flights via Delhi or Mumbai | Scenic, romantic, luxury | High — scarce luxury inventory |
| Jodhpur | Fewer, very exclusive palace venues | Limited luxury rooms | Domestic flights | Royal, grand palace weddings | High at palace venues |
| Jaisalmer | Desert forts, luxury camps and dunes | Limited luxury inventory | Remote; limited flights | Dramatic, desert celebrations | Medium to high — logistics add cost |
| Pushkar | Boutique resorts and camps | Smaller properties | About 3 hours by road from Jaipur | Intimate, spiritual | Lower to moderate — note meat and alcohol restrictions |
| Ranthambore | Fort hotels and jungle resorts | Limited luxury rooms | About 3–3.5 hours by road from Jaipur | Intimate to mid-size, wildlife | Medium to high — few large properties |
Jaipur usually offers the most flexibility on budget because it has the most hotels — see wedding venues in Jaipur. Udaipur carries a premium for its lake palaces, and its best dates go early — see wedding venues in Udaipur. Jodhpur suits a single grand palace setting (wedding venues in Jodhpur), while Jaisalmer adds travel and logistics costs (wedding venues in Jaisalmer). For smaller weddings, compare Pushkar and Ranthambore.
For most destination weddings in Rajasthan, the hotel — rooms, venues and food — is the largest part of the budget. Understanding how hotels price weddings makes it much easier to compare quotes.
Room rates depend on the hotel, the room category and the dates. In palace hotels, suites and historic rooms can cost several times more than standard rooms, so the mix of categories in your block matters as much as the headline rate.
A simple starting point is to divide your outstation guest count by two, then adjust for families sharing and single travellers. For example, 150 guests usually need around 70 rooms. Close family may need suites; elderly guests may need accessible rooms near the event spaces.
On popular dates, many hotels ask for a minimum stay — often two or three nights — and a minimum number of rooms. A room block is the set of rooms the hotel holds for your guests at an agreed rate. Check the release date (when you can return unused rooms without charge) and the attrition clause (what you pay if fewer rooms are used).
Hotel quotes in India often use these meal plans:
| Meal plan | What it includes |
|---|---|
| EP (European Plan) | Room only |
| CP (Continental Plan) | Room with breakfast |
| MAP (Modified American Plan) | Room with breakfast and one main meal |
| AP (American Plan) | Room with all meals |
Wedding functions are usually priced separately from room meal plans, so confirm which meals are covered by the function menus and which by the room plan.
GST is charged on hotel rooms and services in India. Since 22 September 2025, rooms priced up to ₹7,500 a night attract 5% GST, and rooms above ₹7,500 attract 18%. Food and beverage at luxury hotels is generally taxed at 18%. Always confirm whether a quote includes taxes and service charges.
Some hotels quote a package that combines rooms, venues and food; others charge venue rental and food per plate separately. Ask for a written list of what each package includes — décor allowances, sound, lighting, setup time and late-night extensions vary widely.
For help comparing hotel quotes like-for-like, our wedding hotel and venue booking service checks availability and confirms terms with hotels on your behalf.
Every wedding is different, but most Rajasthan destination weddings follow a similar pattern. Use the shares below as a planning guide when you divide your total budget.
| Budget category | Typical share of total | What drives the cost |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel rooms (room block) | 25 – 35% | Number of rooms, room categories, nights and dates |
| Venue rental and food and beverage | 20 – 30% | Number of functions, guests per function, menus and bar |
| Décor and production | 10 – 20% | Scale of setups, florals, lighting, staging and stage changes |
| Photography and videography | 3 – 6% | Team size, number of days, films and albums |
| Entertainment | 4 – 10% | Live acts, DJs, performers and artist travel |
| Transport and logistics | 2 – 5% | Airport transfers, coaches between venues, baraat logistics |
| Planning and coordination | 5 – 10% | Scope of services and team size on the ground |
| Hospitality extras | 2 – 4% | Welcome kits, room gifts, hospitality desk |
| Contingency | 5 – 10% | Last-minute changes, extra guests, overtime |
Hotels and vendors usually ask for a deposit when you sign, staged payments in the months before the wedding, and the balance shortly before the first function. Agree the full schedule in writing so the family can plan cash flow — especially if payments are coming from abroad.
If you are planning from the USA, UK or Canada, budgeting in rupees from another country brings extra steps — currency movements, international payments and guest travel. Our guide to planning an Indian wedding from abroad covers room blocks, contracts and guest logistics in detail.
A two- to three-day destination wedding in Rajasthan typically costs from about ₹1–2 crore for an intimate heritage wedding to ₹7 crore or more for an ultra-luxury palace wedding. The final figure depends on guest numbers, the hotel, the number of nights and functions, and your dates.
A 200-guest wedding usually falls in the mid-range band of about ₹2–4 crore at a five-star or heritage hotel. Choosing a luxury palace hotel, peak muhurat dates or a full-property buyout can move it into the premium band of ₹4–7 crore.
Jaipur usually offers the most flexibility because it has the widest choice of hotels at every level. Pushkar suits smaller, intimate weddings. Udaipur and Jodhpur tend to cost more at their best-known palace venues because luxury inventory is limited.
Often, yes. Udaipur has fewer luxury rooms and its lake palaces are in very high demand, so rates and minimums are usually higher on popular dates. Jaipur's larger hotel inventory gives you more options and more room to negotiate.
In our estimates, rooms are included only for the agreed room block — for example, outstation guests for two or three nights. Guests' extra nights, rooms outside the block, flights, outfits and personal expenses are not included.
Since 22 September 2025, hotel rooms priced up to ₹7,500 a night attract 5% GST and rooms above ₹7,500 attract 18%. Food and beverage at luxury hotels is generally taxed at 18%. Always confirm whether quotes include taxes and service charges.
Keep around 5–10% of your total budget aside for changes you cannot predict — extra guests, additional rooms, overtime or last-minute décor changes. It is easier to release unused contingency than to find new money a week before the wedding.
Start 9–12 months ahead for peak-season weekend dates at popular palace hotels. If your dates are flexible, compare two or three options at the same hotel before paying a deposit — this is often the easiest way to get better terms.
